The Anti-Detox

antidetox

I’m super duper excited to share that the Anti-Detox un-cook (e)book is available in my online store!

This is a seven day collection of highly antihistamine and anti-inflammatory juices, smoothies, or a combination of both, which I have dubbed “jui-cies”, and delicious soups I have used to mediate histamine-induced inflammation. I can’t claim they’ll do the same for you, but at the very least, you’ll be getting a WHOPPING dose of nutrients that are known to bring down inflammation and stabilise mast cells (so they’ll hopefully stop dumping histamine and other inflammatory mediators into the body).

There are times in life where we just need to kill the inflammation, be it histamine induced, or caused by any of the other inflammation spawning elements released from mast cells when the body is having a bit of a meltdown. I consider this book to be an inflammation busting cleanse, that just also happens to be low histamine as well.

Why liquid? Dr. Fuhrman (my nutritional hero) points out that liquids put less stress on the digestive tract as well as requiring less enzymes to be processed. It’s also what so many of you have written in to request!

Why is this the Anti-Detox? Because to me, what we put into the diet is FAR more important than whatever we take out of it. These recipes were created to nourish the body rather than simply deprive it of histamine intake.

The book serves up daily:

An antihistamine/mast cell stabilsing natural tea

x2 juices/smoothies/jui-cies

A super duper high nutrient soup

Information on why to cleanse, what toxic hunger is, a list of antihistamine, anti-inflammatory and mast cell stabilsing herbs and supplements, and whether water fasting is superior to juicing for beating histamine-induced inflammation.

As with the Anti-Cookbook, nothing in this book is here without purpose. Every single ingredient here is antihistamine and/or anti-inflammatory.

I’ve included lower oxalate options for the recipes.

This book is not Paleo.

As with all my recipes, please be aware that antihistamine and anti-inflammatory ingredients can still hurt us, so I respectfully ask that you show your doctor/medical practitioner/faith healer/shaman the book before trying any of the recipes.

The Anti-cookbook, while it doesn’t treat any conditions, due to its high nutrient, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory ingredients, has been instrumental in helping me feed myself on a limited diet. It features a six page list of antihistamine and anti-inflammatory foods. It comes in regular and Paleo.

The Low Oxalate Cookbook features antihistamine and anti-inflammatory rich recipes.

Don’t miss the Low Histamine Beauty Survival Guide for non-toxic beauty tips, the skinny on histamine releasing (mast cell degranulating) beauty ingredients, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory beauty alternatives and the top brands natural brands I’ve found.

Take a peek at my other low histamine and antihistamine cookbooks for more high nutrient recipes.

If you’ve found this information useful I’d appreciate your support (at no extra cost to you!) – please check out my online store for your health foods, supplements, kitchen items and beauty product purchases. Affiliate sales through my online store go towards maintaining the website, funding travel to interviews and purchasing all the lovely foods for my free online recipes. You’ll find these items in the “Shop with us” drop down menu on my homepage.

Please don’t forget antihistamine, pain killing foods can still hurt us, so please always check with your doctor before adding new foods to your diet.

    Hi Yasmina,
This new book only comes in hardcopy, not digital – is that correct?
Also, I wanted to ask a few questions (my apologies if this isn’t the right place to post this): your DAO cookbook says it contains gluten. I have celiac disease; is it still worthwhile to purchase that book, or am I better to purchase the “Low Histamine Lifestyle” book, plus one of the “Anti-Cook” cookbooks?
Also, what is the difference between your Paleo and non-Paleo Anti-Cook cookbooks? I first connected the dots on my own histamine-intolerance when I put my husband and myself on a Paleo diet; he got much better (his cardiologist says he’s one of her stars because he improved so much), and I got much, much sicker – largely from trying to eat bone broths and fermented foods I now realize.
So, for those of us with Celiac in addition to everything else, do you have any recommendations re: which of your cookbooks we should try?

Hi Julie, nope sorry for the confusion, like all of them, this is also an ebook. If you find a publisher interested I’ll write the book 🙂 I would go for the anti-cookbook. The paleo books don’t contain beans. The anti-cookbook regular has sorghum and buckwheat in two or three recipes and a couple with rice. The Anti-cookbook and this one are my favourites. The low oxalate cookbook would also probably be a good bet for you. Hope that helps!

Hi Susie, all my books have US and European measurements and temperatures. I was told I had nasal polyps requiring surgery, they “went away” on their own after being in good health for about a year. Nigella seed, sesame seed and a few others I cover on my blog and in my books are as effective as nasal steroids. Hope he gets some relief soon!

What ingredients may some of the recipes have that are not paleo. I am gluten and dairy free. Would I be able to use most recipes in this book?

Also, I’ve always had a hard time digesting beans. Could that be related to H.I. and will clear up on a low/anti-histamine diet, or am I better to stick with the Paleo version? Thx!

Looks like a good book but would this be any good for people with slow Diamine Oxidase Enzyme activity? It’s not the same as over active mast cells.

    Hi Yasmina,

I would kill for this book, it sounds fantastic!

Unfortunately I’m guessing that all the wonderful anti inflammatory ingredients are also highly potent salicylates?

Do you think there are any recipes that could be safe for me or could be modified? Even just one & I’d buy it!

Finally bought a juicer last week, then got this book yesterday and already I am loving the juicing! I find I am willing the clock to go faster so I have an excuse to make another juice. They just feel so good when I drink them.
I have a question on another subject, about the effect of lowering your histamine bucket on existing allergies. I have tried going on the antihistamine diet before, and this is the second time round. The first time I noticed that while I felt a whole lot better in general, it seemed that my allergic reactions to specific triggers seemed to get worse. As if by making my general situation better, the allergic episodes were heightened or clarified in contrast. I even started developing new food allergies (or so it seemed), for example to white sweet potatoes! You can imagine my dismay when I started getting blisters on my lips when eating something supposedly so benign (strangely the orange ones were fine). The same thing is happening this time around, now with pistachios. I feel better day to day with far less in the way of rhinitis etc, but I seem to be developing new food allergies. I don’t understand! Can you shed any light on this and is it common? Any advice would be much appreciated!
Oh and can I say – terrific new cover photo on your blog!

    Hi Yasmina,

I know you have heard this over and over again, but i really don’t know what i would do with you!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your knowledge, love and support for all of us. xo
I have been dealing with this since i went through puberty, it has been a long journey!
We have now just pieced histamines and mast cell disorder as part of the puzzle.
Just this past weekend i had a major reaction to raw organic apples, one i have never had before. Can i eliminate the apples in all the juices? What do you think about steaming them, and then freazing them, and then juicing them? as i am wondering if it is just a reaction to raw apple. Would you recommend this for all the fruit?
Any thoughts would be so welcome.
I just bought and read through the new book and i am just in awe. Starting today. I have two of your other books and they are just fabulous!
Thank you again for all you do.
    Daphne xo

Do you know anything about mold? All my problems with food, chemistry, asthma, sickness, sinusproblems, swollen eyes, too much water ind my body, skin problems ect. started when I was younger living in a room with mold. I am better to day but reacting to pollen and mold and have chronic sinusproblems because of the swelling and constant stuffy nose. Is it okay to eat patatoes, carrots, beets, beetroots ect. when I react to mold? There is no help to get here in Denmark so it will mean a lot if you would like to give me a clue. I don’t really know what to do next. Thank you very much!

    sabrina,
I have the same issues. I was born and raised in hot, humid, moldy, rainy Louisiana but wasn’t really affected until I was older and my toxic and inflammatory bucket was overflowed , and I lived for 2 years in a horrid moldy house where the mold was growing between the walls and also due to the bad foods I ate, stress, trauma, surgery with lots of drugs, antibiotics, chemical and pesticide exposure….After researching LOTS I believe my Mercury fillings and exposure from seafood, mercurochrome a iodine like substance we put on cuts filled with mercury, etc did the most damage and is the root cause of my health situation. Mercury derails our cellular minerals, gets in the brain, liver, kidneys and thyroid, inter and outside the cells. The first step to ridding the yeast in my body was to remove the silver fillings and begin to chelate the Mercury out of my body. I have cut out all meat, grains, sugar, dairy and follow the “Anti Detox” juicing and this has helped a great deal. I can do beets and carrots and other roots and even lots of fruits. I follow Yasmina but also add Dr Robert Morse protocol with fruits and herbs. He feels fruits are the digestive enzymes we need to heal gut and what pulls (astringent) and scrubs the cell wall to detox our bodies. I couldn’t do a lot of fruits at first but as I got better I could and all the anti inflammatory herbs help. I am trying to alkaline the acids, inflammation and mucus out , get my kidneys flushing and moving my lymph. I can add more if interested Look up Dr Andy Cutler “Amalgam Illness” and Dr Morse http://www.drmorseherbalhealthclub.com and his videos http://www.rawfigs.com and type in issues in search engine and all the videos he talks about this will come up. He is also a iridologist and start to follow the “anti detox”juicing e book from Yasmina. I believe all my issues started with mercury and trauma and the mold being a neurotoxin like mercury is, just broke the camels back …let me know if i can help more and if your situation is similar? do you have or had silver fillings or exposed to mercury as a child esp through your mother’s womb?
